Privacy Policy — Ototo

Ototo ("the App") is a reminder app for a car's yearly renewals in Israel (the annual roadworthiness test "טסט", compulsory insurance "ביטוח חובה", and the vehicle license fee "אגרת רישוי"), developed by Ben Basha ("we"). The App has no user account, and we operate no server that stores your data.

Your data stays on your device

The car details you enter (license plate, nickname, renewal dates, color) and your reminder settings are stored only on your device, in the App's local storage. They are never sent to us, never synced to any cloud, and never shared. Deleting the App deletes this data.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by your device. They do not pass through any server.

License-plate autofill (optional)

If you choose to autofill the test date, the license plate you entered is sent to data.gov.il, the Israeli Ministry of Transport's open government dataset, to retrieve the vehicle's test expiry date. The request is made only when you tap autofill, and we keep no copy of it.

Advertising

On the free tier the App shows ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the IDFA advertising identifier), ad-interaction data, and technical data to serve and measure ads. Before initializing ads we present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt: if you allow, ads may be personalized; if you decline, ads are non-personalized. A one-time premium purchase removes ads entirely. Google's privacy policy.

Analytics and crash reporting

We use Mixpanel and Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand general usage, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics. This data is anonymous and tied only to a random device identifier. We do not collect your name, email, or identifying details, and there is no sign-up. Firebase privacy.

Purchases

The premium purchase is handled by Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment; the App stores only a local flag that the purchase was made. We never see your payment details.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

Because all car data is stored only on your device, you control it directly: edit or delete any car in the App, or delete the App to erase everything. Privacy questions: ototo@benbasha.com
